Fifty five artists showcased their work when Harpenden Arts Club held their annual art exhibition at the Public Halls.
Visitors were up by 60 per cent over the previous year with one of them, Adrian Foster, of Harpenden, commenting: “Congratulations! Another brilliant exhibition – they keep getting better. It is really good to see so many new artists.”
Arts club chairman, Roy Bentley, commented: “It is a huge team effort to pull such a large exhibition as this together – we had around 260 artworks on display, as well as more than a hundred in the browsers and an exceptional range of artists’ greetings cards.
“I thought the diversity of styles and quality of artwork was astounding. We have many very talented artists here, and I am glad that all the visitors enjoyed seeing their artwork so much.”
Harpenden Arts Club runs a weekly programme of artist demonstrations, life drawing sessions and art technique workshops from 7.30pm to 9.30pm most Thursday evenings in Harpenden Public Halls. Taster sessions are £3 and new members ares welcome.
