LOVE and life in sleazy 1950s New York comes to the stage next week when Radlett Light Operatic Society (RLOS) puts on Guys and Dolls.

It is being performed in The Radlett Centre from next Tuesday, November 22, until Saturday, November 26.

Guys and Dolls premiered on Broadway in 1950 and ran for 1,200 performances, winning five 1951 Tony Awards. It features a host of show-stopping numbers including Luck Be A Lady, Sit Down, You’re Rocking the Boat and A Bushel and a Peck.

The production features David Hampton as hustler and bachelor Nathan Detroit who faces a problem when he needs to find a new home for his crap game and keep his long-suffering fiancee Adelaide, played by Carol Ann Colford, from finding out what he is up to.

He looks to fellow hustler Sky Masterson, played by Dan Proctor, to solve the problem but he is side-tracked by a bet and his feelings for the leader of the Save a Soul Mission, Sarah Brown (Bethan Rufey).

RLOS have won five NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association) awards in the last three years and they are putting on five evening performances of Guys and Dolls at 7.45pm and a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.

Tickets range from 14 to 16 with concessions for senior citizens and students on the Tuesday evening and Saturday matinee performances, and for under 16s on the Saturday matinee.

They can be obtained from The Radlett Centre box office on 01923 859291 or online at www.radlettcentre.co.uk
