AUSTRALIAN-born guitarist Craig Ogden is putting on a recital at a Markyate school next Friday, January 27.

Craig, who in 2004 became the youngest instrumentalist to have received a Fellowship Award from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, is performing at Beechwood Park School in Pickford Road.

His programme will feature a variety of styles and periods covering the core guitar repertoire – Albeniz, Giuliani, Barrios – through to accessible contemporary pieces by composers including Roland Dyens, Gary Ryan and Miroslav Tadic.

Craig, who is one of the UK’s most recorded guitarists and has performed concertos with all of the main UK orchestras and many others around the globe, will introduce the pieces from the stage.
