WIDELY-published prize-winning poet George Szirtes is putting on a poetry reading next Friday, June 26, as part of the St Albans Festival.
Budapest-born George has published several books and won various prizes including the T.S. Eliot Prize for Reel in 2005.
The reading is being held at 7.30pm at Verulamium Museum and has been organised by the Ver Poets.
Tickets are �8 for non-members and �5 for members/concessions, available from the festival box office on 01727 844488.
�� Next Tuesday, June 23, the Ver Poets are holding an Open Mic at the White Hart Hotel in Holywell Hill, St Albans, at 8pm. Admission is free.
