ORIGINAL Jam member Bruce Foxton is appearing on the stage of the Alban Arena next Friday, April 16, with From The Jam.

The gig at 8pm is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the classic Jam album Setting Sons which was part of a period of huge success for the band with 18 singles and seven albums making the Top 40 in the UK from their 1977 debut to 1982 break up.

From The Jam also features Russell Hastings and Mark Brzezicki on drums and have already received rave reviews this year with Hastings praised for his, "superb performance that would have made former vocalist Paul Weller seethe with jealousy" and Foxton acknowledged for taking the bass guitar to new heights.

Stepping further back in time, the Solid Silver 60s Show comes to the Arena next Saturday, April 17.

With two shows - one at 3.30pm and the other at 8pm - it is celebrating 25 years and brings together the talents of Dave Berry, Mike Pender, Brian Poole and Peter Sarstedt, backed by Vanity Fair with the Swinging Blue Jeans and The Troggs.

The shows will feature all the great sixties hits including The Crying Game, Little Things, Needles and Pins, Twist and Shout, Do You Love Me and Wild Thing.

Tickets for the matinee are �20 and �18 and for the evening performance �22 with �20 tickets sold out.

l Multi award-winning blockbuster Up In The Air starring George Clooney is being shown at the Arena next Tuesday and Wednesday.

From the Oscar-nominated director of Juno, Jason Reitman, it tells the tale of Ryan Bingham, a corporate downsizer and consummate modern business traveller who, after years of staying happily airborne, suddenly finds himself with nothing real to hold on to.

As he reaches his lifetime goal of 10 million frequent flyer miles, he falls for a beautiful fellow traveller played by Vera Farmiga and begins to contemplate what it might actually mean to have a home.

Up In The Air can be seen at 1.30pm next Wednesday and at 7.30pm on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Tickets for the evening performances are �6 and �4 with the matinee �4 which includes tea and biscuits.
