A star-studded gala variety show will celebrate The Alban Arena’s 50th anniversary later this year.

Curated and hosted by the St Albans venue’s newly appointed patron, Bob Golding, the 50 Years of The Alban Arena – A Gala Celebration will take place on Sunday, October 7 with an all-star line-up.

St Albans panto legend Bob has delved into his contacts book and it will be an evening of entertainment, music, comedy and more.

The cast currently features everyone from Barry From Watford to Barry from EastEnders, aka Shaun Williamson.

Bob Golding’s Aladdin panto co-stars Phil Gallagher, aka Mister Maker, and Ian Kirkby are also due to appear, as is ex-EastEnders star Rita Simons, who played Roxy Mitchell.

Australian comedian and Channel Four’s The Last Leg presenter Adam Hills and comedian/magician Peter Firman are also on the line-up poster, along with chart-topping singer Gareth Gates and The Alban Arena Dancers.

Musical comedian Vicky Arlidge and St Albans’ very own rising star Asha Banks will also appear during the gala evening, while there will be music from The 78RPM Big Band, the West End Gospel Choir and tribute band Hats off to Led Zeppelin.

There will also be a very surprise special guest artist.

Ticket for this special show are on sale now, priced £25, £20 and £15.
