FUNNY First Mondays has its third outing next week at a city-centre pub. Set up by St Albans Arts - STARTS - it is being held on February 6 at O'Neill's in Victoria Street and will be compered by Mike Belgrave, a West Indian Londoner who has performed more than 500 gigs, including the Edinburgh Fringe He has run and compered two London comedy clubs so a St Albans audience should be a breeze. The headline act will be Matt Dyktynski, whose mixed Polish and Lancastrian parentage and Australian background give him a rich comic seam to mine. As well as being a stand-up comedian, he is also a singer-songwriter, a multi-accented voice-over artist and an actor with TV and film credits. Also appearing will be Kevin Shepherd, who has always had a burning ambition to become a successful stand-up comic and is now a regular at many London clubs. Tony Cowards, who is also appearing, is described as one of the few funny things to have come out of East Anglia. He now lives in London but comperes his own monthly comedy night in Ipswich and co-comperes at the Funny Farm in Wivenhoe, Essex. Comic Ed Hands completes the line-up but, in addition to the booked performers, there is rumoured to be the possibility of seeing some local comic talent on stage. Table service beings at 7pm with comedy from 8pm to 10pm. Advance tickets are available from info@starts.org.uk or from O'Neill's in Victoria Street. They are £4 in advance or £5 on the door.
