One of the biggest and best fireworks displays in Hertfordshire for Bonfire Night will take place in St Albans.

The annual St Albans Cathedral Fireworks Spectacular at Verulamium Park is planned for Saturday, November 4, 2017.

This hugely popular event is a must for all the family, with food, bars and entertainment on offer.

The amazing public display is produced by Fantastic Fireworks of Redbourn, double winners of the British Fireworks Championships.

Gates open at 6pm, and the display is due to start at 7.30pm prompt.

The display was started over 25 years ago in order to reduce firework accidents at home.

Over the years it has raised more than £750,000 for local and national charities.

This year’s nominated charities are Earthworks St Albans and Waverly Driving Group RDA, as well as other charities supported by St Albans Cathedral.

The fireworks event is sponsored by Debenhams Ottaway, Solicitors and is organised by the Cathedral and local volunteer groups.

No sparklers or other personal fireworks are allowed in the display area.

Advance discounted tickets are available until Friday, November 3.

Adult tickets cost £7, children under-16 £3, and it is free for youngsters three and under.

A family ticket, for two adults and two children under-16, is £14 in advance.

Full price tickets, on Saturday, November 4 and in cash at the gates, cost £10 adults, and £5 children under-16.

A family ticket is £20 on the night.
