ROCK bands The Legion of Filth and Carnaby House from St Albans took to the stage of the legendary Troubadour in London last Friday.

Carnaby House were first on at the packed venue and played with bursting energy in their Arctic Monkeys-style sound. The Legion of Filth followed with a less heavy 60s' acoustic style and their trademark sense of humour that came across in the lyrics.

In between bands, the poet Vinnie Gibbons gave two of his punchy and absurdist rhymes.

Musicianship was tight and effortless, performances solid and confident and the audience, bussed from St Albans, needed little incentive to dance or make noise.
