An annual week-long dance festival featuring performances by both established and up-and-coming artists gets underway on Monday, February 29.
Dance Springs, co-commissioned by UHArts and Dance East, is a taster festival, now in its third year, which invites audiences to get close to the action with peformances and screenings across the University of Herts campus in Hatfield.
Among the highlights will be Protein bringing the gastronomic production May Contain Food to the College Lane Campus next Thursday and Friday, March 3 and 4.
The festival also showcases four short works by new UK choreographers. Hip-hop choreographer and dancer Botis Seva, Katie Webster and Benjamin Shepherd, known together as Crimson and the Rovers, Pola Krawczuk and Neus Gil Cortes will be performing at the Weston Auditorium on the university’s de Havilland Campus, at 7.30pm next Friday, March 4.
The festival will also feature free screenings of three dance films ranging from Still Life with Dog by Fevered Sleep to a film made by the university’s Dance with Parkinson’s group.
