Artworks by the legendary American singer songwriter Bob Dylan and iconic photographs of him throughout his career are being showcased by a St Albans art enthusiast this month.
The Drawn Blank Series consists of four dozen re-imagined sketches created between 1989 and 1992 by Dylan, of which around 20 of his signed limited editions will be on display from next Friday, December 4, until Saturday, December 19, at Gallery 105 in Victoria Street, St Albans.
The paintings include portraits of characters Dylan has encountered on his ramblings as well as interiors, landscapes, still life, nudes and street scenes of which there are no more than 250 copies of each in the UK.
The photographs on show were taken by Elliott Landy, official photographer at Woodstock in 1969, and Don Hunstein, who was chief photographer at Columbia Records for many years.
Exhibition organiser, Jean Dennis, said: “This is a unique combination of iconic photographs and collectible artworks by a legendary musician who has received renewed huge interest due to his recent European tour.
“I saw this as an opportunity to showcase him as an artist on top of his famously influential status as a musician to the St Albans community.”
The exhibition runs from 10am to 5pm daily.
