Redbourn musician Chris Anderson is returning to his home city to play at The Horn in Victoria Street next Wednesday, June 11.

Primary school teacher and former Nicholas Breakspear pupil Chris, who now lives in South East London, lived in Mansdale Road, but moved away to start working in a school on the Aylesbury Estate near Elephant and Castle.

He and fellow teacher Robin Spencer set up their own band – Elephants and Castles – and are about to release their very first single.

Following a successful acoustic performance on Radio Verulam’s Drive Time Show in April as well as national airplay on BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio, the band return to The Horn to support Oxfordshire band Leader.

Of their upcoming single Chris, who plays lead guitar and sings for the band, said: “Again, it’s an honour to play at such a famous local venue, especially before the release of our very first single, Fashanu – a tribute to the late, great footballer Justin Fashanu. His story is worth telling and we did it through this song.”
