Flawed but inspirational poet Dylan Thomas is the subject of a talk by the Ver Poets at St Albans Central Library tonight.
Thomas was born a century ago and and the talk by chairman of the Ver Poets, Terry Jones, takes place just before what would have beeen his 100th birthday, October 27.
The poet is remembered for masterpieces like Under Milk Wood but he also wrote such poems as Fern Hill, Do Not Go Gentle into that Good Night and The Force that through the Green Fuse Drives the Flower.
The audience at the library in the Maltings shopping centre is invited to just listen or read a favourite poem. A recording of Dylan’s own voice will be played.
The evening begins at 7.30pm and admission is £4 which includes refreshments.
