OLD skool classics with a full DJ line-up in aid of the Bailey Sarwa Appeal are being performed in Going Back To My Roots II at the Alban Arena next Saturday, July 7.

The disco night runs from 7pm to midnight and the line-up includes DJ Brooksie, Bertie B, DJ Ghost feat. MC Double O, David Rees, JoJo, Tommy Boy & Khem! Also appearing is very special guest DJ Chris E – Bailey’s dad!

The appeal is to pay for treatment for 13-year-old St Albans boy Bailey who is suffering from a rare form of cancer.

Auditions for girls wanting to be part of the junior ensemble at this year’s Arena pantomime Aladdin are being held from 1pm to 4.30pm next Sunday, July 8.

The auditions are for eight to 15 year olds who are asked to come along wearing comfortable clothes and soft/dance shoes and bring drinking water. Registration is at 1pm and those auditioning will be taught a routine when they arrive.

Marine Logan (Zac Efron) is serving in Iraq and finds a photo of a girl with “keep safe” written on the back. He is admiring it when his unit is attacked. He survives and credits the photo for saving him and when he returns home he sets about finding the girl in the photo.

Outside Bet is the midweek matinee at 1.30pm next Wednesday, July 4, and 5pm on July 5. It is set against the turbulent mid 80s of money, privatisation, unions and dramatic media evolution when a life-long group of friends find themselves at the bad end of a redundancy pay-out and invest their savings into a racehorse, hoping that one final race can turn their fortunes around.

Vampire film Dark Shadows starring Johnny Depp and Michelle Pfeiffer is being shown at 5pm next Wednesday, July 4, 8pm next Thursday, July 5, and 8pm next Friday, July 6.

An imprisoned vampire, Barnabas Collins, is set free and returns to his ancestral home where his dysfunctional descendants are in need of his protection.

The last new film of the week is The Dictator at 5pm next Friday, July 6. It is the story of a dictator (Sacha Baron Cohen) who risks his life to ensure that democracy will never come to the country he so lovingly oppresses.

Also showing again next week are Albert Nobbs and How I Spent My Summer Vacation.

Tickets for matinees are �5 and are �7 with �5 concessions for evening showings.
