WELL-KNOWN figure on the international jazz scene, Dave O’Higgins, is appearing at the Herts Jazz Club on Sunday. (12)
He has recorded 13 albums as leader with various line-ups after cutting his teeth with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, Cleo Laine, Roadside Picnic and Mezzoforte. He went on to work with Ray Charles, Martin Taylor, Frank Sinatra, Jamie Cullum and Stan Tracey to name a few.
His latest project, The Dave O’Higgins Septet, with four horns and a piano trio, features a wealth of individual talent from the UK scene.
The evening at Campus West in Welwyn Garden City gets underway at 7.45pm and tickets are �12 online at www.welhat.gov.uk/cw, �15 on the door and �5 for students and under 21s.
