TENOR saxophonist Simon Spillett returns to the Herts Jazz Club with the Danny Moss Junior Quintet on Sunday. (16)
In the past few years Simon has risen meteorically to become one of the most dynamic and distinctive tenor saxophonists in the UK jazz scene.
A regular member of the Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra, he has accompanied such stars as veteran jazz singer Jon Hendricks, pop icons Will Young, Mick Hucknall, Andrea Corr and Sharleen Spiteri as well as celebrated vocalist Monica Mancini.
Danny Moss Jr. plays bass and although he lives in Australia, he has toured the UK regularly including with his late father, saxophonist Danny Moss.
Dave Chamberlain will play guitar, John Critchinson, piano, and Clark Tracey, drums, at the club which meets at 7.45pm at Campus West in Welwyn Garden City. Tickets are �11 online at www.welhat.gov.uk/cw, �13 on the door and �5 for students and under 21s.
