AN EXHIBITION to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the Normandy Landings is being held in St Albans throughout this month.

Many local residents actively participated in the landings on June 6, 1944, and SAASH Arts have brought together members of the local branch of the Normandy Veterans Association to honour the occasion in a pictorial tribute to all participants.

Over recent months project facilitator and professional photographer Linda Newell has attended the association's meetings to develop portraits of members to sit alongside pictures of them as young soldiers.

Linda also encouraged participants to record their recent trip to Normandy to participate in the official commemorations.

The exhibition is being held at the Museum of St Albans in Hatfield Road from Monday until August 31.
