A HIGHLY controversial tale adapted from the novel Conscience and based on real events is being performed at the Maltings Arts Theatre in St Albans next Friday, April 20.

Written by Johnny Tait, it centres on three people who have never met before and have nothing in common but find themselves trapped together. As their stories unfold it is clear they are not so different after all.

Conscience is funny in parts but also delves into the darker side of human behaviour – with a twist at the end.

The part of Shelly, a 17-year-old girl with a cross to bear is played by Katherine Males, who has recently appeared on TV in an adaption of a classic Charles Dickens novel.

Ellis Young plays the part of bitter divorcee Tilly who has developed a loathing for men and Nick Watt takes the role of a misogynistic retired police officer.

Tickets for the performance at 8pm can be obtained from www.ticketsource.co.uk/ovo and the box office 07807 521436.
