International poet Clare Pollard joined Ver Poets in presenting a cheque for £100 to Open Door Night Shelter at their annual awards evening.
Clare was the guest at the awards evening, held in the Abbey Theatre, St Albans, at which a cheque was presented to Kerry Pollard who founded Open Door 20 years ago.
Kerry said: “This is a generous gift from Ver Poets and I was able to explain to Clare the very worthwhile work the shelter does and the sort of service user it helps.” He added: “Ver Poets’ original base was in the Bricket Road building which now houses Open Door.”
