Irish group, Clannad, are playing at the Alban Arena next Tuesday, March 11, at the start of a busy week at the St Albans theatre.

The family group responsible for such timeless music as Theme From Harry’s Game and the soundtrack to the Robin of Sherwood TV series, are marking their 40th anniversary.

Irish Comedian Ed Byrne is back at the Arena at 8pm the following night, Wednesday, March 12, following a sell-out performance last December.

A self-confessed ‘miserable old git’, since the age of 23, he is now in his forties and embracing middle age with open arms.

Magician Jamie Allan brings his show iMagician to the Arena next Friday, March 14.

Portrayed as Harry Houdini meets the 21st Century, he has spent a decade performing around the world and has now come home with iMagician which blends illusion with high technology.

The show begins at 7.30pm and tickets are £20 and £17.50.

The Ultimate 80s Party next Saturday, March 15, relives the glory days of Pacman, Rubik’s Cube, Thundercats and Dirty Dancing.

Featuring music from tribute band Wild Boys, Chesney Hawkes and a live DJ set from Pat Sharp, the evening gets underway at 7.30pm and tickets are £20.

A Gospel Festival is being held from 9am next Sunday, March 16, featuring the London Community Gospel Choir.

The day of praise and music includes music masterclasses, a children’s vocal workshop and musical instrument classes, concluding with a fundraising concert.

Tickets range from £7 to £15.
