One of the younger generation of organists who is interested in restoration as well as playing comes to St Albans Organ Theatre this Saturday, May 9.

Christian Cartwright, assistant organist at the Pipes in the Peaks, Derbyshire, is completely renovating a Christie Theatre organ with his brother Christopher.

But he also finds time to perform and at the theatre in Camp Road, St Albans, completely self-taught Christian will be putting on a concert of music for all tastes and ages using his own arrangements of music with 1950s and ‘60s themes..

His influences are the likes of Lyn Larsen and Ron Rhode, the late Vic Hammett and Phil Kelsall.

The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for children under 11, available from www.stalbansorgantheatre.org.uk or email info@stalbansorgantheatre.org.uk
