CHRIS Biscoe and his quartet return to Herts Jazz Club on Sunday (17) to explore the musical legacies of bassist, composer and bandleader Charles Mingus, and reeds virtuoso Eric Dolphy.
Taking a high-energy approach, the band features music written by Eric Dolphy and tunes from Oliver Nelson, Fats Waller, Monk and Mingus which he recorded.
Chris on alto sax and alto clarinet is joined by Henry Lowther, trumpet and flugelhorn, Larry Bartley, bass, and Stu Butterfield, drums, at the club which meets at Campus West, Welwyn Garden City.
