A FORMER head chorister at St Peter’s Church in St Albans is the soloist at a lunchtime concert there next Wednesday, February 23.
Jamie Matthew won the South and West Herts Young Musician of the Year award in 2005 and was a recipient of a mayoral civic award for promoting the city of St Albans.
He is currently in his final year of a Bachelors degree in music at the University of Leeds.
His programme on the church’s Bosandorfer piano will include Bach’s Partita No. 2 in C minor, several preludes by Chopin and Haydn’s Sonata No. 37 in E.
The free concert starts at 1pm and there will be a retiring collection in aid of Grove House.
