CAROLS at City Station performed by St Albans Choral Society raised almost 600 for Grove House hospice last Thursday evening.
The two-hour carolling session continues a tradition of the choir singing at the station which began two years ago. The amount raised from generous commuters was a record.
Complete with bells and Santa hats, the choir sang a range of favourites from Deck the Hall to Ding Dong Merilly on High.
Said Liz Hizli, community fundraiser at Grove House: “We are absolutely delighted at the amount raised for a very good cause, especially in these tough times. We would like to say a big thank you to St Albans choral Society, the kind commuters and the station authorities for enabling this to happen.”
