Their singing is balanced by wit and humour and Cantabile has established an unrivalled reputation throughout Europe and beyond for harmony singing of the highest quality combined with a very British sense of humour.

They will be performing works by Bach and Rossini, folksong and classical parody through to the Beatles and Richard Rodney Bennett's A Good Night commissioned by Paul McCartney.

The performance entitled Cantabile: From Madrigal to McCartney, gets underway at 8pm and tickets are 15 with concessions 14, available from the box office on 01923 859291 or go to www.radlettcentre.co.uk

The spiritual world of medium Simon Peters is coming to the Radlett Centre the following night, Thursday, January 28.

Simon was just four years old when he had his first experience of the spirit world and although he found it initially frightening, he gradually got used to it happening and was having conversations with them by the time he was nine or 10.

In 2003 while working in private practice as a hypnotherapist, his spirit guide Peter made a surprise return while he was with a client and when he repeated what he was saying to her, it turned out to be 100 per cent accurate.

Since then he has been passing messages on from the spirit world while admitting that he has to meditate and get into a certain state before he goes on stage or it doesn't happen.

He accepts that mediums and clairvoyants have a dubious reputation - sometimes well deserved - but he challenges scientists to put him to the test. He said: "I would love to take part in some kind of parapsychological research just to prove that I'm genuine."

He comes on stage at 8pm and tickets are 15 with concessions 14.
