THE Byron Wallen Quintet plays Herts Jazz Club on Sunday evening.

Recently heard at the Herts Jazz Festival, Byron has been described by Jazzwise Magazine as, “one of the most innovative, exciting and original trumpet players alive”.

He is widely recognised as a seminal figure in world jazz and is constantly travelling the globe recording, teaching and performing.

The past few years have seen Byron tour and record with jazz legends such as Sam Rivers, Andrew Hill, Jack Dejohnette and McCoy Tyner. He has also been working with Gregory Isaacs, Ken Boothe and Mikey Spice, pioneers of the reggae world.
