Harpenden’s late great Eric Morecambe is coming home – when St Albans funny man and panto star Bob Golding brings his one-man show to the Alban Arena next Saturday, March 29.
Bob is appearing in Morecambe, a brand-new production of Tim Whitnall’s Olivier Award-winning play about the comedy icon who lived in Harpenden for a large part of his life.
Directed by Paul Hendy, producer of the Arena’s pantomimes, the show looks at one of Britain’s best-loved entertainers from his humble beginnings in Music Hall to 28 million viewers on Christmas Day,
Bob, who was Olivier-nominated for his role in Morecambe, takes on not only the man himself but also the huge array of characters that filled his life, from market trader and comedy sketch writer Eddie Braben, to Bruce Forsyth and Ernie Wise, Eric’s partner in crime.
The performance gets underway at 7.30pm and tickets at £17.50 with concessions £1 off, are available from the Arena box office on 01727 844488 or online by clicking here.
n A performance by singer/songwriter Paul Carrack at the Arena next Sunday, March 30, has sold out.
