ROLLICKING farce All in Vein brings the Company of Ten’s 75th anniversary season to an end – and Brian Stewart has more reason than most for hoping it is a success.
Brian, a long-standing member of the Company of Ten, has both written and directed the fast-moving and action-packed farce which runs from Friday until July 10.
As an actor using the stage name Ben Bradshaw, he was a regular in all episodes of the unique and award-winning comedy The Office. Since then he has had a number of TV and theatre roles although his major interest is play writing.
One of his first plays, Castro’s Beard, a satirical comedy about the ludicrous attempts by the CIA to dispose of Fidel Castro in the 1960s, was produced originally off-Broadway in 2001 with further productions in Massachusetts and Texas.
In 2006 – renamed Killing Castro – the play toured nationally and starred Clive Mantle, Michael Praed and Edward Hardwicke. In the same year another comedy, Webbed Feat, about internet adultery, toured the UK.
Brian’s skill in writing comedy and directing can be seen in All in Vein and tickets are now on sale from the Abbey Theatre box office on 01727 857861 or online at www.abbeytheatre.org.uk
