Bell ringers are marking the Alban Weekend next Saturday, June 18, by setting up a miniature bell frame and ring of bells in the city centre.
A mini-ring, known as the Maplestead mini-ring, will be outside the Alban Arena from midday until 4pm and it will be a chance for passers-by to meet the local bellringers, see what is involved in ringing and have a go if they wish.
Anyone who is interested and would like to see ringing on full size bells, will then be invited to a ‘taster session’ at St Stephen’s Church in Watling Street, from 2pm to 4pm the following day, Sunday, June 19.
