TRESTLE Arts Base in St Albans is throwing open its doors to the public for a free Explore Day backstage on Tuesday.
Visitors can try on costumes in the dressing rooms, take over the theatre's light and sound controls or plant a seed in Trestle's garden in Russet Drive .
Workshops on offer include a chance to make your own shadow puppet, join in mask making or take part in some writing with local playwright and author Anna Reynolds.
A theatre spokesperson said: "People - either children or adults - can also get a sneak preview of the ideas behind Trestle's next touring production."
