DREDA Say Mitchell, winner of the Crime Writer's Association John Creasey Award, will be talking about her latest novel Geezer Girls in St Albans next Tuesday.
Geezer Girls is set in London's gritty underworld and tells the story of 15-year-old Jade Flynn and three other girls who are forced to take part in "special community projects" working for a man they nickname The Geezer.
A shocking event makes them rebel and try to get on with normal life until, 10 years later, The Geezer turns up and threatens to kill them unless they do one last job for him.
Dreda Say Mitchell was born in London's East End and has taught in both primary and secondary schools. She is also a radio broadcaster and occasional journalist.
Her other titles include Running Hot and Killer Tune with a further book, Gangster Girls, due out in March next year.
