ARTIST and pupil are putting on a special exhibition this month in the refectory of St Albans Abbey.
John May, who lives in St Albans, and his pupil of 10 years, Edward Bevin, a former newspaper editor of Watford Road, are putting on the display which consists mostly of paintings in acrylic.
They include paintings from when the Abbey was in the grip of snow earlier this year.
For most of his career, John has been head of art at a North London school. He has exhibited extensively in summer exhibitions at the Royal Academy and at art galleries in other parts of the UK.
Edward has concentrated on painting in acrylic during his time as John's pupil and hopes he has explored its full potential.
