CHILDREN’S author and illustrator, James Mayhew, will join the de Havilland Philharmonic for their family classical concerts on Sunday.
He will tell and paint the stories of Sinbad the Sailor on stage – projected on to a big screen – while the orchestra performs music of Arabian influence including Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade.
James said: “I am thrilled to be collaborating with the de Havilland Philharmonic again. We passionately believe that these unique events combining story-telling, art and music, are the perfect way to introduce children to live classical music.”
The concert is being performed at 2pm and 4.30pm at the University of Herts Weston Auditorium on the de Havilland campus in Hatfield.
Tickets are 12 for adults and 5 for children and for more information go to www.herts.ac.uk/artsandgalleries or telephone 01707 281127.
