OVER 450 paintings and sculptures go on display in the Town Hall this week in the St Albans Summer Art Exhibition.

It is the first "open" exhibition where exhibitors from the wider locality can all enter their works of art and it runs from today (Thursday) until Sunday.

All the work is for sale and it ranges from contemporary textile wall hangings to traditional landscapes. A proportion of the proceeds from the exhibition, which is open daily from 10am until 9pm except Sunday when it closes at 4pm, will be going to the local branch of the Camphill Trust which uses art as therapy for people with mental and learning difficulties.
