HITS from High School shows are set to rock the Alban Arena next Thursday evening, November 4.

The high-energy, foot stomping and totally interactive production features hits from High School Musical 1, 2 and 3, Hannah Montana, Camp Rock and Glee.

The audience will be encouraged to sing-a-long and join in as much as possible with a select few, after a dance-off competition, chosen to join the cast on stage to shoot hoops.

One of the defining voices of American folk, Tom Paxton, is appearing at the Alban Arena next Friday, November 5.

His songs, which range from The Last Thing On My Mind to Ramblin’ Boy and Bottle Of Wine, are known throughout the world and he is regarded as one of the most revered musicians of his generation.

He combines subtly acerbic wit with dignity, humanity and unique charm and he comes on stage at 8pm. Tickets are �20.

Some of the great names of the sixties are appearing at the Arena the following night, Saturday, November 6. 60s Gold Tour brings together Gerry and the Pacemakers, The Searchers, PJ Proby and Chip Hawkes in a show in which they perform their greatest hits.

They range from Gerry’s greatest hit, You’ll Never Walk Alone, to The Searchers’ massive number one hit Needles and Pins, PJ Proby’s Maria and Chip Hawkes Tremeloes hits including Silence is Golden and Even The Bad Times Are Good.

The show begins at 3pm and tickets are �22.50 and �19.50.

n A busy week of movies at the Arena gets underway on Tuesday evening (2) with Inception, the film which won numerous plaudits for its star Leonardo di Caprio.

He plays a highly-skilled thief who is given a final chance of redemption in a world where technology exists to enter the human mind through dream invasion.

Inception can be seen at 7.30pm and tickets are �6 with concessions �2 off.

A glimpse into the life of controversial French singer Serge Gainsbourg can be seen in Gainsbourg (Vie Heroique) at the Arena next Wednesday, November 3.

It tells the story of Gainsbourg’s life from growing up in 1940s Nazi-occupied Paris through his successful songwriting years in the 1960s to his death in 1991 at the age of 62.

The film can be seen at 1.30pm and 7.30pm. Tickets for the evening showing are �6 with concessions �2 off and for the matinee �4 which includes tea and biscuits.
