ACOUSTIC music fans can see the best of local talent when four acts take to the stage at the Maltings Arts Theatre on Saturday. The Acoustic Lounge returns for a new season at the St Albans theatre and first up will be duo Pale Marble Movie who return to launch their third album Kissing Gate with its summer jazz and pop songs. Top St Albans troubadour J. Stark rolls up with Simon Herries on bass to celebrate the arrival of a new album of dark Americana-influenced songs. A role reversal follows as Acoustic Lounge veteran Pete White takes a backseat to accompany bandmate Steve Austin. Known for his energy and enthusiasm on stage, he delivers passionate, emotive songs of hope and faith. The evening ends with The Mike Adcock Trio with Mark Burr on drums and Graham Sutton on upright bass. Mike is regarded as one of St Albans' treasures and he returns with a heady blend of jazz and traditionally-influenced original melodies. The music starts at 8pm and tickets are £7.50 and £6.50, available from the box office on 01727 844222. The next Acoustic Lounge is scheduled for April and will be headlined by Katie Buckhaven.
