THE Ghost of an idea in a Ghostly Little Book is how Charles Dickens described A Christmas Carol which is being performed by the Company of Ten at the Abbey Theatre in St Albans.

The tale with universal appeal has since been made into films and stage shows with a new adaptation being performed by the Company of Ten, dramatised by Anthony Peters.

The frosty streets of Victorian London come to life at the mention of the names Fezziwig, Cratchit and Marley while the creative magic of the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future turn Scrooge from miser to benefactor.
