TWO films created by graduates of the animation course at the University of Herts have won awards.
Vincent Chai's film World War won the Games Art award and Krissy Josephides and Aqeel Ahmed's film Alienated the Visual Effects award at the Animex Festival.
Only one other first prize went to a UK university with the rest being awarded to European and Korean student films.
Peter Arnold, acting head of the School of Film, Music and Media, said: "Animation is a challenging industry that requires a high level of skill, professionalism and determination. These students have made a fantastic start to their careers, supported by their lecturers at the university."
Animex, an international festival of animation and computer games, is the most prestigious UK festival of its kind and features the best of world student animation.
