THE real-life experience of having legendary screen actress Bette Davis come to stay is at the heart of Me and Jezebel which comes to The Radlett Centre next week.
It was written by Elizabeth Fuller who, by pure chance, welcomed the actress into her somewhat dilapidated New England cottage in the summer of 1985.
The play is being performed at The Radlett Centre direct from the Edinburgh Fringe at 8pm next Thursday, September 3.
What was supposed to be an overnight stay turned into an escapade which lasted 32 days, during which time Davis turned Fuller's home and life upside down.
Katy Manning - famous for her role as Jo Grant in Dr Who - plays all the parts from the affected, name-dropping Joan Crawford-hating superstar Bette Davis to the reluctant but starstruck hostess Elizabeth, her frustrated husband John, thumb-sucking four-year-old son Christopher, Irish grandma Ol'Ma, singing evangelist Grace and even the family dog.
Tickets for the show are 15 with concessions 12, available from the box office on 01923 859291.
