ACTRESS and playwright Vicki McKellar is taking to the West End stage next week in her own play which has Abi Titmuss as the leading lady.

Vicki, who has lived in St Albans all her life, wrote Paradise Lost which runs at the Leicester Square Theatre from next Tuesday (19) until Saturday (23).

She created Paradise Lost which focuses on six individuals bound together through partnerships, secrets and scandal. It revolves around the complex relationships that people develop – sisterly rivalry, unrequited love, troubled marriages and infidelity.

Destruction strikes when all is revealed as the group gather around a Ouija board.

Abi Titmuss, the former glamour model turned actress, stars as Suzie, a lesbian who enters into an adulterous relationship with a married woman. Vicki, a former pupil of Cunningham Hill Junior and St Albans Girls School, plays her lesbian lover and said: “I am thrilled to put on my first show at the West End with an accomplished actress like Abi Titmuss performing on stage alongside me.

“Paradise Lost has been a labour of love for me and I hope the audience will find it a thoroughly riveting and enjoyable production.”

Vicki, who studied for three years at the Italia Conti Stage School, acted in the acclaimed TV series Our Friends in the North and Bugs 4 where she was a stand-in for the lead actress Paula Hunt.

In 2001, she returned to draama school to study acting as a post-graduate student and since then she has performed in several plays including Time and the Conways, Love’s Labours Lost and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Vicki went on to study at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York in 2006, taking in some off-Broadway work and appearing in a video for Snow Patrol.

In 2007 she set up her own Tapestry Theatre Company and her first production was Nicky Silver’s The Maiden’s Prayer which had a short but successful run at the Lion & Unicorn Theatre in London.

Vicki wrote Paradise Lost in three months and is funding the production from her own pocket. Tickets cost 15 with concessions 12 and are available at www.leicestersquaretheatre.com/
