LOCAL professional violinist Miles Golding and the other members of the Arbutus Quartet are performing in Harpenden next Friday, April 13.
They will play four quartets from the quills of four Viennese-acknowledged masters of the genre in St John’s Church, Southdown.
Mozart’s early quartet bubbles with enthusiasm and contrasts with a late mature work by his close friend Haydn. Romanticism pervades Schubert’s single movement and by the time Beethoven reaches the sixth of the Op 18 set, he is already stretching the structures and ideas that he inherited from Mozart and Haydn.
Tickets are available on the door at 12 with students 5. Full details can be found at www.milesgolding.com/events.html
