ARTIST Wendy Hyams has received two awards from the Royal Society of Miniature Painters where her work remains on show until Sunday. (28)
Wendy, of Sandfield Road, St Albans, has won the Royal Miniature Society Award for the best set of five miniatures and the Bill Munday Gold Sovereign Award for her portrait entitled Ross.
Her work has been on show at the annual exhibition of the Royal Society of Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers at the Mall Galleries in London.
Wendy spent several years working as a freelance illustrator but put it all on hold after her second child, Dominic, was born with brittle bones.
Several years ago, she started specialising in portrait miniatures and has now been made an associate member of the society.
