WITH 2013 promising to be a great year for opera lovers, an Operatunity Workshop for choral singers is being held this Saturday (26) in Harpenden.
This year will mark celebrations of Verdi, Wagner and Britten and the workshop has been set up by Harpenden Choral Society.
Directed by Howard Charles, who has worked throughout the UK and internationally, singing leading operatic roles, and by the Harpenden Choral Society’s award winning conductor John Andrews, it is being held from 10am to 4pm at Harpenden High Street Methodist Church.
Mezzo-soprano Olivia Ray and baritone James Cleverton will be on hand to demonstrate how well-loved opera arias and choruses progress from the rehearsal room to the stage.
Registration and coffee will be served at 9.30am and ticket prices are £15 for adults and £7.50 for students which includes music and refreshments. Tickets are available from box office manager Tricia Beavis on 01582 419379, at the door or online at www.harpendenchoralsociety.org
