A light-hearted evening of jazz, classics and songs from the musicals will be given at Rothamsted Manor in Harpenden next Saturday, November 9.
They will be performed by Julian Godlee – also known as a St Albans GP – and Kevin O’Donnell.
The title, Thirteen Foot of Singer, reflects the combined height of the two performers who are both 6ft 6ins. They will be accompanied by normal-sized pianists Cynthia O’Donnell and Will Todd.
The programme will include duets for bass and baritone, favourites from the English songbook including Purcell, Quilter and Ireland, a jazz piano solo and popular songs from the likes of Flanders and Swan and Noel Coward.
The concert, which is given in support of Home-Start for young families under stress, starts at 8pm. Tickets are £17, which includes an interval glass of wine, and can be obtained by sending a stamped addressed envelope to The Brocket Consort, Cutting Hill Farm, SG2 7DJ.
