A well-known local duo return to St Peter’s Church in St Albans for the lunchtime concert next Wednesday, March 5.
Tenor Geoffrey Ward teams up with pianist Alexander Hall to put on a recital entitled Distance Lends Enchantment.
The theme of the songs is mostly unrequited love and the centrepiece is An die ferne Geliebte (To the distant beloved), composed by Beethoven, with other works by Schumann, Ireland and Finzi.
The free concert begins at 1pm at the city centre church with a retiring collection in aid of Grove House Hospice.
