Elvis would have been 80 this year - and the anniversary is marked by The Elvis Years which is rocking and rolling into the Alban ARena next Thursday, June 25.

The concert production of the West End musical Jailhouse Rock, the show features original star Mario Kombou and his band who will come on stage at 7.30pm.

Over 50 of The King’s greatest hits will be performed from the early days of Sun Studios and That’s Alright Mama, through the Hollywood years of GI Blues and It’s Now or Never, the ’68 TV special with All Shook Up, and culminating in the famous Las Vegas concert, with In the Ghetto, Suspicious Minds and American Trilogy.

Total Praise UK Singers will be Reaching the Unreached at the Arena next Saturday, June 27.

A gospel benefit concert in aid of the Adventist Frontier Mission charity, the evening will feature Soul II Soul singer Melissa Bell, gospel artist, musical and choir director Israel.J.Allen and choirs from Tottenham and Reading.

The concert starts at 7pm and Total Praise UK Singers will also be performing their new hit singles No Other Name but God and Psalm 103.

* Romantic period drama A Little Chaos, directed and starring Alan Rickman, is being screened at the Arena next Tuesday and Wednesday, June 23 and 24.

Sabine, a female landscape artist (Kate Winslet), is awarded the esteemed assignment to construct the grand gardens at Versailles, a gilt-edged position which thrusts her into the very centre of the court of King Louis XIV (Alan Rickman).

As well as being haunted by the ghosts of her tragic past, Sabine must overcome the challenges of class and gender barriers in an unfamiliar world, as she finds herself falling in love with the King’s chief gardener Andre Le Notre (Matthias Schoenaerts)

The film is being shown at 7.30pm on both days and there is a Wednesday matinee at 1.30pm. Tickets for the matinee are £5 and £7 with concessions £5 for the evening showings.
