A theatre company that has been producing material on mental illness for three years is putting on a scratch performance of its current project, Little Cuts, in St Albans tomorrow. (18)

May Contain Nuts Theatre Company comprises of members who are involved in mental health services as patients, carers or service providers. They will be performing Little Cuts at 2pm at the Trestle Arts Base in Russet Drive, St Albans.

It is the company’s third play, based on their own lived experience of harmful coping behaviours.

Little Cuts presents the issue of self-harm through the framework of a theatre company devising a production to be presented within schools.

The characters explore the broad definition of self-harm: from the misuse of alcohol to cutting and from engaging in harmful relationships to people placing themselves in risky situations.

It does not arrive at a conclusion but encourages the audience to see that self-harm and how an individual relates to it is both unique, and multi-faceted in its purpose.

Although the performance is free, tickets needs to be booked through Trestle at 01727 850950.
