How Wonderful You Are singer-songwriter Gordon Haskell in St Albans’ yard

Gordon Haskell is joining forces with musical collective Hannah’s Yard to perform at The Alban Arena.

Hannah’s Yard tweeted: “Gordon Haskell is an amazing singer/songwriter.

“A national treasure that you have to see!”

After a nine-year period enjoying the sunshine abroad, the writer of 400,000-selling BBC Radio 2 favourite How Wonderful You Are is back in the UK and touring theatres across the country.

He will bring his jazz/blues-influenced songbook and golden voice to the Arena on Thursday, June 15 at 7.30pm.

Gordon will be joined by BBC Introducing-supported and Radio 2-played musical collective Hannah’s Yard.

Described as ‘Norah Jones meets Fairground Attraction’, Hannah’s Yard features some of the UK’s finest musicians.

At the heart of the music collective lies the beautifully understated voice of 20-year-old Hannah Layton Turner.

Alongside original songs from both artists, expect to hear an eclectic selection of covers – from Randy Newman to James Taylor, Sam Smith to Carole King.

After 35 years of dedication to developing his craft, singer-songwriter Gordon Haskell finally broke through to international audiences in 2001 with his hugely popular song How Wonderful You Are.

The single reached number two in the UK Christmas charts, thanks in part to its popularity on Radio 2.

Musicians from Hannah’s Yard will accompany Gordon for his headline set, completing a warm and intimate evening of timeless music.
