Now in its 7th year, the annual St Albans and Harpenden Food and Drink Festival is an opportunity to showcase everything that’s great about our local restaurants, pubs, bars, cafés and food producers.

Sponsored by the Herts Advertiser, the festival starts off with St Albans Beer Festival on September 24 and runs until October 6.

Harpenden Food Festival and Farmers’ Market is a new addition to 2014, taking place on the first Sunday of the Festival period. Harpenden Town Council is developing this event as part of the monthly Farmers’ Market with extra stalls for local restaurants, businesses and producers to sell their produce being available. Entertainment will be programmed to bring attention to both what is on offer in Harpenden and the Food and Drink Festival as a whole.

The Charity Gourmet Night is also back, and the St Albans Street Food Festival Finale is planned to be bigger than last year with George Street closed to extend its reach and even more local businesses involved.

The festival culminates in the fiercely fought Food and Drink Awards. This year’s awards ceremony will be held on the final Monday of the Festival period at St Michael’s Manor and promises more glitz and glamour than ever before. Nominations for the Awards are open until June 1.
