YOUNIS Ahmed will be running his impressive specialised cricket academy at Harpenden Cricket Club during the month of August.

The academy will be open to children of all abilities aged 8 to 16. Harpenden coach and first team manager, Younis, is looking for sponsors cover the cost of providing professional coaches and equipment, lunch and refreshments for the children and administrative support to cover the cost of sending out invitations and collating the responses.

Prizes will be presented to the most improved batsman, bowler, wicket keeper and fielder during the academy.

Younis represented his country Pakistan and played county cricket for Surrey, Worcestershire and Glamorgan scoring more than 26,000 runs as an attacking left hand batsman. He also played for South Australia on the invitation from Sir Donald Bradman. For the past 10 years he has been running his academy in South Africa and Pakistan.
